The book is fast paced with a gripping, fun and yet disappointing plot. There were a few twists to keep you going but most of them were anticipated. There were two different cases one involving mysterious deaths in a hospital and another involving the gruesome death of beautiful call girls. The book would have done better if the focus was on either one of the cases as it would have assured us a better quality mystery. Also apparent was the missing motive behind the case which left me searchingProbably the best one in the series so far. I feel like now that we "know" the characters I don't feel so awkward and stereotyped and I can just enjoy the mystery and the thrill of it. I am liking this series more and more and I want to continue reading it. I particularly enjoyed this case more than most of James Patterson's novels that I have read thus far. Good Read!
Alright, if you have been following my updates for this series you probably know I am not a huge fan. I am going to come out and say that before I continue with the review. That being said, this novel could have been so much better, maybe 3 or 4 stars, if they would have cut out the Car Girl story line. All of the other plots had to do with what was happening at the Hospital except that one. Not only that, but it wasn't an overly compelling mystery that it was a good sidebar to the investigation
So how do you catch a murderer in municipal hospital? They leave no clues except 2 caduceus (medical coin) over the eyes. The other case is to find whose killing women and leaving them inside luxury vehicles, dressed expensively. On top of that, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer, wishes to be a part of the action instead of the department's supervisor. So there's murder, suspense, a crooked lawsuit, romance, the loss of a loved one in the murder club and with all this activity, it kind of lost me
THE FIFTH HORSEMAN is, unsurprisingly, the fifth book of the immensely popular series of crime fighting novels featuring the individual heroines that comprise the San Francisco based WOMENS MURDER CLUB. It is a highly original, very entertaining, suspenseful and entertaining way to spend three hours of your life in typical James Patterson / Maxine Paetro fashion. Which means, of course, that the book will gift the reader with plenty of action, drama, and short chapters with impossibly addictive
I hadn't read a Patterson in a while when I picked this up and it immediately brought back all of the reasons that I like his books. After a bit of a let-down for me with 4th of July, the Women's Murder Club is back in fine form. Patterson's characters are all likeable and easy to root for. The writing style is what I would call very comfortable and the storyline moves along at the usual Patterson frenetic pace. Once I start, I usually don't want to put one of his books down and The 5th Horseman
