Narrative As Books Giant Days, Vol. 1 (Giant Days (Single Issues) #1-4)
Susan, Esther, and Daisy started at university three weeks ago and became fast friends. Now, away from home for the first time, all three want to reinvent themselves. But in the face of handwringing boys, “personal experimentation,” influenza, mystery-mold, nu-chauvinism, and the willful, unwanted intrusion of “academia,” they may be lucky just to make it to spring alive. Going off to university is always a time of change and growth, but for Esther, Susan, and Daisy, things are about to get a little weird. This was such a fun read! Though I did feel it lacked a bit of direction, but it was such an entertaining read.WOW this was just what I needed. Amazing art, and absolutely hilarious!
3.5It was a really cute read in a low stakes world set in Britain. Follows three girlsEsther, Susan, and Daisy. Theyre flat mates navigating university life together. As the volume progressed we dove a little more into the characters backstories (mostly Susan who broke the 4th wall before her flashback)Had a couple moments when it felt a little degrassi, not in a bad way, just not subtle at allbut since its touching on real topics of conversation I can see this work finding its way into the hands

It's not often that I get into contemporary graphic novels, but this is an exception worth making. The characters are lively and fun (especially Esther, who is naturally my little goth heart's fave), there's a healthy mix of diversity thrown into the cast, and the storyline
Esther is the bomb dot comI really enjoyed this. A lot.
Giant Days was fun and sarcastic and very cute. I'll make sure to get hold of the next volumes!Find more of my books on Instagram
I love stories about first year uni students! There really needs to be more of them! I'm pretty sure Daisy is my favourite character, but all of the girls are so quirky and hilarious. If you want a glimpse into (or to be reminded of) university shenanigans then Giant Days is the perfect place to start. I can't wait to see the Holiday Ball in Volume 2!
