Description Supposing Books Song Bird: Matters of the Heart

“I’m not Mavis anymore.”

For years, song bird Nikki Mills (aka Mavis Mills) dreamed of the freedom and lifestyle that came with being a platinum record artist. To get there, she put her career and son first and her love life on hold.

Now an international singing sensation, Nikki discovers her reality is very different from what she had imagined. Determined not to be caged by the fan and media circus, Nikki struggles to protect her son, their relationship and lifestyle. That struggle is complicated by her desire for a love life.

The unearthing of Nikki’s dark past, known only to her inner circle, creates a paparazzi whirlwind that threatens to destroy her. Can she find the courage to withstand the media storm? Can she transcend her past? How will she resolve matters of the heart?

Set between 2000 and 2002, the themes in Song Bird centre on discovery, belonging, transformation, dealing with adversity, and matters of the heart.

Weigh Up Out Of Books Song Bird: Matters of the Heart
The third novel in a loosely connected saga. Just love it! It is all so real and it moved me; I can't say that about many of the contemporary books I've read lately. Definitely should be a movie or mini series.

Just loved this book. Why? The characters emerge as real people who I cared about. The world is vividly created so it was real to me. The story with its twists and turns was a page turner. I love that it is about the intimacy of love and the complex bonds of friendship. I recommend doing the whole journey with Mavis.

I loved 'Life Song' and adored this novel. Knight's stories ring as real rather than fictional. I liked that Nikki was her own person and didn't need a man to give her status and value. I understood why she was conflicted in matters of the heart so I kept turning the page to see who or what would win out. The ending was incredibly satisfying in an unusual and surprising way.If you like character-driven stories this women's fiction novel is for you.

'Song Bird' was so good I read it twice. It was incredibly easy to read, engaged my emotions, heart, and mind. This novel has depth to it so I gained even more from it when I read it the second time. The second reading gave me time to enjoy the landscape - physical, human, and social. I also really like the author's style and the way she integrates plot and subplots. I am a single parent and a musician so I felt immediate empathy with the characters of 'Song Bird'. The story challenged me to

Having read the other books in the Keimera series and having loved them, I was worried that this third novel would not deliver. I was wrong. 'Song Bird' is a great story. Characterisation, setting, and plot are created in arresting detail. I particularly connected with the characters. I shared laughter, hopes, fears, and tears with them Knight writes in an easy to read and engaging style that makes the reading process seem like it goes fast. Her writing is not only active but memorable. When I

In a word - wonderful! Layered story telling at its best. I loved the way the symbolism of the cover design focused the reader on the motif that formed the backbone to the this story.
