i'm in a jane austen kinda mood, so i'm going to do the logical thing and read a semi-retelling of pride & prejudice through the lens of a mother-daughter book clubI am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I took a risk choosing to read a book in the middle of a series without having previously read the earlier books (and only did so because of a local library reading challenge), but it stands alone well enough. I was missing some of the backstories but it was easy enough to either fill in the missing pieces or ignore them altogether. It shows the story from the different perspectives of the girls in the book club. Emma a girl in the book club was surprised when her parents told them they were moving to England for a year. She was sad because she would have to leave her boyfriend and because she wouldnt be able to participate in the mother daughter book

That is to say that she wrote universal truths to which we can relate even in our day. This is true for a set of girlfriends and their mothers who participate in a book club together and find some
